Valentines Day Frozen Hearts

A colourful and wonderful way to create sensory play at home for bubs under 5!

You will need:

Cornflour

Water

Food colouring (optional)

Ice Trays/Moulds

Bowl

Spoon

Method:

Add 1 cup of cornflour to 1/2 cup of water with added food colouring.

Keep playing with the consistencies that you like.

Pour the contents into ice trays or moulds of your choice ( we chose hearts) and freeze.

So much fun!

As it’s summer now and some days are full of humidty, it's always good to keep bubs cool.

We also know that goop is taste safe and Messy Bubs of all ages love to get stuck into it.

We decided to freeze our goop this week for an added extra.

Science behind Goop:

Goop is a non-Newtonian fluid. It doesn’t behave like a “normal” liquid. It has properties of both a solid and a liquid depending on the amount of stress applied. When stress is applied, the cornstarch and water mixture acts like a solid (your hand can’t go through; you just squish it like play dough). When constant stress is not applied, the mixture acts like a liquid.

This activity promotes:

*Science and Math

*Fine motor skills

* Hand and eye coordination

*Communication and language.

Have a go at home and let us know in the comments how it went!
